Course Trainers
The trainers are all accredited by the University of Cambridge ESOL Teaching Awards. They are all very experienced English teachers and IH tutors have typically worked in a variety of settings and locations. All our trainers are committed to teacher development and have an active, ongoing interest in this field.
Our 2010 trainers include:
- Claire Fenton
- Claire has been in EFL since 1997 and has taught in Russia, Spain, Argentina, the UK and Vietnam. Prior to joining our team of CELTA trainers, Claire coordinated our YL and Kindy programme and was then appointed the Academic Manager for Apollo in Le Van Huu, Hanoi. She has tutored on the IHCYL both on-line and in–house and has also conducted a variety of training workshops in various countries. She is also an oral examiner for the Cambridge YL Suite and the IELTS exam
- Lena Grannell
- Lena Grannell has worked within English Language Teaching since 1991 and has taught in Spain, Venezuela, Hong Kong and the UK. She has been a CELTA teacher trainer since 1999 working in both the UK state and private sector and as a freelance teacher trainer in Thailand, India and Spain. Lena has extensive experience teaching English for Academic Purposes and is currently on a four month sabbatical from her post as In-Sessional, Study Skills and Study Abroad Co-ordinator at the University of King’s College London.
- Paula Hanna
- Paula is the Teacher Training Manager for Apollo so as well as training on CELTA courses she also deals with the course administration. She has worked as an EFL teacher, director of studies and trainer for ten years in Vietnam, China and the UK. She has tutored online and face to face courses for the International House (IH) Certificate in teaching Young Learners and the IH Business English Teaching Certificate. As well as providing in-house training for teachers on a number of topics, she has also led external training workshops for Cambridge ESOL and spoken at TESOL conferences in the UK and the region.
- Mo Killip
- Mo Killip has worked as a teacher, manager and trainer in TESOL since 1987 mainly in New Zealand, Hong Kong and the UK. She is an IELTS examiner and Cambridge ESOL oral examiner and is Regional Team Leader for the Cambridge exams in New Zealand. She has been a CELTA tutor since 1994 and CELTA assessor since 1998. She is currently a free lance CELTA trainer based in New Zealand and has run over 60 courses throughout the world including Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Canada, Russia, South Africa and Indonesia.
